I read ‘Almanack of Naval Ravikant’ two years back. If there is one thing that has stuck with me since then, is his emphasis on content, code and capital as the forms of leverage, for building wealth in this evolving new world. It was interesting for me to think and try to better understand what it meant. Here’s what I’ve come to.
Content
We consume a lot of content these days in one way or another. Video, a book, podcast, audiobook, blog.. Content helps to create value, educate and inspire others and thus helping to build a personal brand. This gives the potential to reach wider audiences, build authority and network, and share information efficiently. More importantly, you don’t need anybody’s permission to create content.
Code
Code here doesn’t just literally mean sitting and writing code. Code can also mean developing automation to create easier workflows. A formula filled excel sheet for example. It also means building digital solutions for the problems people face. Once it’s built, it can be reused again and again, and keep upgrading as time passes. Now with a lot of vibe coding platforms available, creating a piece of software for that idea you may have, became a lot easier.
Capital
This has always been the classic form of leverage, which still holds true today. This doesn’t just mean money to invest, but ability to obtain resources, then deploy those resources smartly to create more value. This allows you to scale larger and faster. The typical investing in a business, to securing funding for a project, to strategically managing one’s finances to support growth, all are examples of capital leverage.
All these, combined with your capacity to collaborate with people, can move mountains in my opinion. Collaboration leverages the strengths and visions of others around you. All we need is to start somewhere.
